I grew up in Seaboard, a small town in Eastern North Carolina.  Summers there were long and hot, and entertainment in this small village was left to one's own devises.  Consequently, my childhood endowed me with memories of bicycle rides down dusty country roads, trips to the Outer Banks, long walks on unspoiled beaches, and ferry rides that seemed to take forever.  These memories serve as inspiration for my stories of mystery and suspense set in the South.

I graduated from Seaboard High School and went on to receive a Bachelor of Science Degree from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro.  I earned a Master of Science Degree and an EDS from Middle Tennessee State University.  For several summers I directed an educational program for the children of migrant workers who came into the area to harvest potatoes.  After teaching for twenty two years, I retired and now reside in Williamsburg, Virginia with my husband, Jim.  I have two sons, Brian and Scott.  In addition to writing mysteries with a Southern twist, I enjoy Tai Chi, gardening, and especially travel.

Settings are a very important element in my Southern mysteries.  I strive to use authentic descriptions based on my Southern background.

Many Southern homes have been in the same family for generations.

Lovely gardens with pebble paths, terraced flowerbeds, and ornamental shrubs are tucked away behind stately old homeplaces.

I hope you enjoy visiting my website and learn more about me and my Southern mysteries with a twist.
